Programme: Erasmus+ Strategic partnerships in vocational education and training

Theme: Preparatory exchanges and pedagogical engineering for the European mobility of apprentices

Duration: September 2019 - Present

NEAR IN EUROPE:

Networking, an Experience for an Apprenticeship Reinforcement in Europe

The Erasmus+ project "NEAR IN EUROPE" or "Networking: An Experience for an Apprenticeship Reinforcement in Europe" is an Erasmus+ Partnership project "Exchange of Good Practices in Vocational Education and Training". It is part of a strong context:

     -  At the European level, it is part of the Recommendation of the Council of the European Union of 15 March 2018 on a European Framework for Quality and Effective

        Apprenticeships (2018/C 153/01) and the Recommendation of 22 May 2018 on strengthening key competencies.
     - At the national level, the context of the vocational training reform, voted in 2018 and implemented since 1st January 2019 and aiming in particular an increase in the

        number of "apprentice" trainees in vocational high schools.
     - At the regional level, it is precisely in line with the new academic plan 2018-2022 of the Dijon academy "Dijon: a learning academy" which sets as a priority the

        internationalization of schools, high schools and training centers in a very rural Burgundy region which is struggling to develop the European mobility of its learners.

With the support and under the responsibility of the Apprenticeship Training Center of National Education in Burgundy (CFA-EN en Bourgogne) in charge of apprenticeship in the academy of Dijon, the GIP-FTLV de Bourgogne will develop over two years (2019-2021) this experimental project jointly with four European partners (Latvia, Portugal and Spain x2) and two organizations associated for their expertise.

Thus, the objectives of the project are to:

   1. Promote Europe among teachers and trainers at high schools and training centers, among young people for their future work placements in companies

          and among their families;

   2. Work on the networking technique to create an operational and secure European apprenticeship network in order to establish long-lasting relationships between

        partners;
   3. Implement new procedures and new pedagogical tools that can be used by all partners to support learners and stakeholders involved in the mobility in companies,

       with a particular focus on "soft skills".

The target group of this project consists therefore of young vocational trainees, apprentices or other status (depending on the country), level V or IV and preferably minors (a point identified as an obstacle to mobility).

Thus, each partner country of this project will select 6 young people who will leave in groups of two for an internship in a company in order to establish a diagnosis of the points to be improved and then the tools to be created to simplify and promote this type of apprenticeship in European companies. These "test mobilities" will be carried out in three periods over two school years.

Several outputs are expected, including a guide to support European mobility and a collection of exercises and activities on "soft skills". The results will be disseminated via the partners' websites.

The impact is expected in terms of the commitment of high schools and the number of placements in European companies. The soft skills training activities carried out for the pedagogical staff will be evaluated in terms of their impact on the development of teaching practices. For the academic departments, this experimental action will allow them to argue the guidelines of the academic policy.
